My First Two Books, 1996

Remember, I said these were designed in 1996. Before you laugh, perhaps you would like to send me covers of your books you designed a decade ago. (I would love to post them.) These were assigned to me by Dwight Baker at Baker Books. At the time he was the art director. Today, he is president. Not a bad promotion, eh?

I will always be grateful to Dwight for giving me my start to what has become a fulfilling career. Soon thereafter I was able to get my foot in the door at Zondervan and was able to work with Robin (O'Brien) Welsh and Paula Gibson. Paula remains one of my faithful art directors and friends to this day (though at Baker now) and Robin and her husband Mike have become good friends.
