I hadn't been to Chip Kidd's site (goodisdead.com)in quite some time. The celebrity king of covers has a blog (Journal), links to his writings and an extensive library of his covers (Work). The Work section can be viewed by year, title, author, or randomly. Whichever way it makes for a good site to go to for a little visual inspiration.
I have started a new blog which is in essence a "feed reader" for book design blogs. I found myself forgetting about certain blogs or confusing them due to very similar names (Book Covers, Books Covered, Book Covers Anonymous, etc.). I hope that you will find Buzzto be a valuable resource.
If you have a blog you think would be a good addition, please leave a comment.
If you are looking for a good waste of time this holiday season, don't miss Betamaxmas. All the boob-tube glory of the Christmases of the 1980s. You can just flip through the channels with the remote or check out the TV Guide with Arnold and Mr. D. on the cover.
If you are looking to waste a few moments check out the following Urban Exploration (urbex) sites. They range from the interesting (Mike Tyson's abandoned mansion) to the nostalgic, to the downright creepy.
My good friend Barry has asked me (in a couple of comments on the previous posts) to tell a little bit about the covers I have posted below. I think he may be kindly telling me that just posting my covers is lazy. If that's his message, he's right. Posting covers is only shameless self-promotion. But, I have been too busy working as of late to write anything constructive, useful, entertaining or conherent. Which I guess is a good thing to be that busy with paying work.
So, in the meantime, enjoy the pretty pictures. I will try to get back to using words soon. I really do appreciate (and am humbled by) all of you who come to see what is happening here.
