It used to be in InDesign CS that you could kern space between, say, a drop cap and the next letter by inserting cursor between the two letters, and then [option] + left or right arrow. Now, in CS2 it simply moves the whole paragraph or something. Any help?

I don't have your email. But I am still looking for some help with this issue. I know I can adjust it in the tool bar, but it used to be so easy with the key shortcut.
BTW, it still works in Photoshop CS2, just not InDesign.
